My plan is a bit unconventional. It is to write one blog post a day. That way I have 30 first draft blog posts for 2020. I can post once a week and get through half the year or every other week giving me posts for the entire year, plus some. I could also post twice a week&#8230;but you see where I&#8217;m going this. It was my sister&#8217;s idea. She may not even remember giving it to me. She&#8217;s extremely busy and may not remember who she told this idea. But I&#8217;m taking it. I have spent days listing blog posts ideas. I have a grand plan. And it feels good. Sort of.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Have you ever participated in Nanowrimo? You know that feeling when you wake up on November 1st with your great idea and an itch to write, write, write? Then you start strong, getting down a good chunk more than the daily goal. You feel good about yourself. I&#8217;ve been there. I love it. And that is not what happened this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Now have you been so overwhelmed that you just ignored the Nanowrimo idea playing in the back of your mind? ME! Me. This is where I am. What I&#8217;m writing now is the total of what I&#8217;ve written in three days. It&#8217;s 8 pm on Sunday night. I still have dishes to clean and clothes to wash&#8230;and 5,000 words to type to catch up.<\/div>\n<div>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lucilleyateswrites.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/canva-woman-with-covered-face-lying-on-the-ground434184665..jpg\" class=\"wp-image-227 size-medium\" width=\"3000\" height=\"2025\" title=\"Photo by Free-Photos\"><\/p>\n<p>Photo by Free-Photos<\/p><\/div>\n<div>If you are like me, the 2019 version, you are run down with prior responsibilities. My son&#8217;s birthday party was on Saturday. Friday was spent cleaning and gathering last-minute party supplies. Saturday was the party and visiting with family afterward. Today I crashed. My body was done. I slept late, had breakfast with the in-laws, skipped lunch in lieu of a nap, and am now trying to get ready for the week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;m not saying I&#8217;m the queen of procrastination, but I am in training. So here I am on the 3rd day of November with barely 450 words to my name. And with that, I want to remind you of something. At least I wrote something. Butt in chair, hands on keyboard. I may not hit the 50,000-word goal, but I&#8217;m going to try. I will do my best to put my butt in a chair and my hands on a keyboard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>I encourage you to do the same. Don&#8217;t let the goal be so daunting you don&#8217;t try.
